Super Star Katrina Kaif

April 14, 2008 (Sawf News) - Katrina Kaif has denied recent tabloid rumors that she and Salman Khan are likely to tie the knot soon. Curiously, reports surfaced the same time last year claiming they will wed on April 18, just two days before the Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai wedding.

Katrina is categorical with her denial;

"These rumors are completely false and ridiculous. I am not getting married. These are silly people playing games by spreading these rumors," she told TNN.

"I'd also like to add that I'm booked every day of this year already for my films," she added.

Katrina, who often plays host at private parties thrown by Salman Khan, ridiculously enough, does not acknowledge that the two are an item.

Ironically, when quizzed about the frequent and periodic rumors about their wedding, Katrina said, "It is because people know that both Salman and I do not comment on our private lives ever."

We think they invite the rumors by playing coy about the relationship, instead of acknowledging or denying it.

Last year, there was a second spate of Salman - Katrina wedding rumors in late June, with some of the reports suggesting the two will get married on Christmas Day. Those rumors too proved to be wrong.

We wonder if Katrina's chock full calendar claims will prove to be a deterrent to more rumors this year.

Celina Jaitley

Celina Jaitley is currently working for the director Ken Khan’s movie ‘Love Has No Language’, which is set and shot in New Zealand. Celina and Ken were invited for a party where most of the guests were supposed to be Indians.

Since, Ken doesn’t know Hindi, he asked Celina to teach him how to greet the guest in Hindi. Celina got mischievous and taught him to say: “Namastey, tera baap chor hai!”.

Poor Ken did not realize what the words meant and he learnt them by heart. Later, at the party, he addressed the crowd with the same sentence. Ken realized something was wrong only when he read everyone’s shocked expression.

However, later Celina eased everyone by clarifying the whole issue and accepting that she was the culprit.

Sameera Reddy

The 'Hot babe' of Bollywood, Sameera Reddy has now turned a Naxalite in her forthcoming movie, with Suneil Shetty. The very talented actor cum director Anant Mahadevan will direct this reality based film which is a co-production of Suneil Shetty's Popcorn Entertainment and Balaji Production.
The otherwise glamorous girl of Bollywood, Sameera is very much excited about this film as it will give her a scope to prove her worth in serious roles too, in Hindi. Sameera who has been appreciated for her serious genre roles in Bengali movies is hell-bent to give the character a good face and justify with the role. Sameera is in the meanwhile going thro' many newspapers to avail of the news regarding naxalites. It seems quite shocking while Sameera thinks her character is justified, at least to some extent, with her terrorist activities. According to her, "Zihaad" is also justified. She says, "All negativity has some reason behind that. It's true that a terrorist is wrong, but the question is why the person has followed the wrong turn. No one is born to be a terrorist or a naxalite. The situation makes them terrorists. Even problems in governmental work-stations are sometimes enough to turn people terrorists. Here you cannot determine which is wrong and which is right. I think it's a war in which it's very tough to decide who is wrong or who is wrong." Suneil Shetty, Nasiruddin Shah and Vinod Khanna will also act in the naxalism based realistic drama, along with Sameera.

Amrita Rao,

Atlanta, USA Amrita Rao, – At a time where the art scene in Atlanta is stronger than ever and the city has seen substantial growth in multicultural diversity, Bollywood comes to Buckhead in rare fashion show form. To mark the occasion, the beautiful Indian actress, Amrita Rao, made the trip from Mumbai as a special guest. She participated in the show wearing a beautiful gown and jewels created by Prriya & Chintan.

Taking its name from Hollywood, Bollywood, spelled with the letter B, comes from Bombay, also called Mumbai, a popular city in India known for its active film industry.

Sima Rama and Rita Patel, owners of *Prriya and Chintans Couture & Jewelry and the design talent behind the label, showcased several culturally inspired garments and accessories at an exclusive show held last Friday night at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Buckhead. The designing duo joined forces in 2003 after experiencing much international success with their unique design aesthetic and draped silhouettes. Much of their collection consists of beautifully crafted diamond jewelry and embroidered ready to wear apparel.

Good Day Atlanta’s Suchita Vadlamani, who once called Mumbai in India home, was the hostess for the evening. Suchita commented on the talents of the designers while wearing pieces from their one-of-a-kind collection in various striking colors.

The exclusive pieces showed draping and layering of garments at its best, reminiscent of both Greek and Mesopotamian cultures centuries ago. On the runway, gorgeous ethnic models wore designs of rich colors and embellishments of precious stones. From long flowing creations to an A-line swaggering appeal, the designers’ fusion of Indian culture and modern chic succeeded at satisfying even the healthiest fashion appetite.

Preeti Jhangiani

Hyderabad, April 16 (IANS) Telugu director Raj K.S. Gopi says that Bollywood actress Preeti Jhangiani’s sensuous item number in his directorial debut “Tejam” will boost her career in southern films.
“I’m doing a film with eight newcomers. Preeti is well-known in Telugu but so far she has done mostly offbeat, mellow roles. Now that she is doing an item number, her career will get a boost,” Gopi told IANS.

Preeti, however, said she is playing a “vital role in “Tejam”.

“My role is important to the story as is my dance number,” the actress was quoted as saying.

While Preeti’s pictures in a skimpy outfit has created a wave in Hyderabad ahead of the movie’s release, sources close to her said that the “Mohabbattein” girl was looking forward to the image makeover.

“After her marriage to Parveen Dabbas last year, Preeti’s career was going nowhere. The item number will make people sit up and take notice, hopefully,” a source said.
